Face Painting only uses paints which are hypoallergenic, antibacterial and water-based. They are non-toxic and fully compliant with EU and FDA toy and cosmetics regulations.  All paints are easily removed with soap and water.  We use a safe cosmetic grade glitter, which is a fine loose dust suitable for face and body painting,

Painting Procedures:

We advocate a ‘Sponge per Face’ system, which ensures each child is being painted with a fresh sponge as opposed to a ‘Sponge per Colour’ system (whereby one sponge is allocated for each colour and used throughout the day). The ‘Sponge per Colour’ system is proven to cause cross contamination of bacteria, by using a ‘Sponge per Face’ system, we intend to minimize the potential to pass on any skin infections, common colds or diseases that could potentially be undetected in a child that we paint.

Restrictions:

Unfortunately, we are unable to paint children who have chicken pox, measles, mumps, conjunctivitis, cold sores or any infection of the skin. As an alternative some children may be able to have arm or hand painting. For children with dry skin or eczema a sensitivity test patch on the arm can be offered.

Consent:

Please be aware that we require the person we paint to give consent, for younger children, a smile and an obvious willingness to sit to be painted will be accepted as consent. We will definitely not paint babies, sleeping children, or children who appear to be unwilling, or distressed. For people with severe disabilities, will we work together with carers to come to a decision that best suits the individual. For private parties, we ask that you make your guests Parents aware that they will be offered Face Painting, and just let us know if there are any we shouldn’t paint! We may ask for consent to use your childs image and first name on our website or for advertising purposes, we will not proceed with this unless you have given consent, and will not be offended if you choose to decline!

Body painting is also a unique way of celebrating pregnancy, as baby showers are becoming more popular, having a "bump" painting is a fantastic way of celebrating a baby shower, or alternatively having a private piece of bump art is a wonderful chance for mums to be to relax and enjoy the feeling of being pampered.

The paints used are safe for use on the body and during pregnancy and wash off with soap and water, but you will be given a photo of your painted paint bump to cherish and keep. A bump paint session usually lasts between 1-1.5 hours but mums to be report it to be a relaxing sensation and unborn babies respond positively to the gentle touch of the paintbrush.
